Retailer of Last Resort
Price notification for Retailer of Last Resort pricing*
Applicable to large business customers in NSW
This notice, in relation to Retailer of Last Resort pricing, is applicable to large business customers supplied, or to be supplied, electricity by Integral Energy. For the purpose of this notice, ‘large business customers’ means customers whose annual electricity consumption is greater than or equal to 160MWh.
In the event that you are currently supplied by another electricity retailer and that current electricity retailer becomes unable to continue to supply you with electricity in circumstances that give rise to a last resort supply event (as defined in the Electricity Supply Act 1995 (NSW)), and
- your business is located within the Integral Energy supply district (as defined in the Electricity Supply Act) and you have not agreed to the terms and conditions of the supply of electricity with Integral Energy under last resort supply arrangements, or
- your business is not located within Integral Energy's supply district but you have entered into an arrangement with Integral Energy (with the consent of your local distribution network service provider) to become your electricity retailer if a last resort supply event occurs, and the rates at which that supply is to be charged by Integral Energy have not been agreed at the time of the event;
Integral Energy is required by the terms of the Electricity Supply Act and its retail supplier's licence to become your electricity retailer (referred to as the ‘Retailer of Last Resort’). In accordance with its rights under the Electricity Supply (General) Regulation 2001 (NSW), Integral Energy will charge such customers at a price which does not exceed the higher of:
- the total of the spot price at the local regional reference node under the National Electricity Rules plus a margin of 10% or $20 per MWh of electricity (whichever is the lesser) and any other additional charges specified in Integral Energy's last resort supply arrangement (being network charges, cost of network losses, NEMMCO charges, charges relating to metering services, environmental pass-through charges or other charges approved by the Minister), or
- the rates applicable to Integral Energy's large business customers whose annual electricity consumption is greater than or equal to 160MWh, as published from time to time.
The retail energy rates which will be applicable from publication of this notice are indicated below. These rates will remain in place from the time that you transfer to Integral Energy until such time as your supply commences under a new contract for electricity supply with Integral Energy, or you transfer to another electricity retailer.

*These retail energy rates are calculated on the basis of the expected costs of supplying this category of large business customers with electricity and related goods and services during a last resort supply event where no other pricing agreement has been entered into with Integral Energy, and will remain in place until such time as a new contract for electricity supply with Integral Energy commences, or you transfer to another electricity retailer.
Note that these retail energy rates will also be adjusted by the applicable loss factors and any NGAC, ES, MRET and/or other allowable environmental or emissions reduction scheme pass through charges in respect of the electricity supplied. All other usual network charges and regulatory costs or amounts will also be payable.
