Power back to all but 300 Blue Mountains customers

Jun 20, 2007

Just 300 homes and businesses in the Blue Mountains and around Lithgow remain without power following snow falls and high winds overnight.

While the snow and fallen trees are making the restoration of electricity challenging, Integral Energy crews have been able to restore power to 1700 customers in these areas.

The remaining areas affected include:

Blue Mountains - Lithgow customers

  • Parts of Mt Wilson, Mt Irvine, Bell, Silverdale, Hampton, Duckmaloi, Rydal, Tarana, Kemps Creek, Blackheath, Mount Victoria

"Integral Energy apologises for any inconvenience to customers. Our priority is to ensure the safe restoration of supply as soon as possible,” a spokeswoman said.

There are no other reported power supply problems within Integral Energy's network area following the storm today.

Integral Energy is warning customers to stay well clear of fallen power lines. Members of the public wishing to report emergency situations should call 131 003.

Due to the small numbers of customers affected at this stage, further updates will only be provided if the situation changes substantially.
